Contact - Feedback, Email Dataverse/Dataset Contact #658
Comments
We have added the Feedback popup form, linked from the header, and we should utilize that one form for all contact workflows, by implementing the subject/addressee dropdown functionality suggested here. |

… used together with the feedback form in the nav header. [ref #658]
Checked in wireframe for dataverse/dataset contact form, that will be used together with the feedback form in the nav header. Passing to @sekmiller to merge all the forms together into the form that is currently wired in dataverse_header. Let me know if you have any questions. |
@sekmiller in #1114 i had to update the field name for Dataset Contact specifically which will most likely break the Dataset contact button and form when creating a dataset. The field name has changed to datasetContactEmail and is now a child of the compound datasetContact. This change was done based on Odum's feedback to ensure that we are DDI-Lite compliant. Please let me know if I can help clarify anything. CC/ @mheppler @eaquigley |
Was looking at this today and was curious if the Subject and Message are required fields that need to be filled out. If they are, we need to add asterisks in as well as inline error messages. Currently, if I click on the Send Message button, it throws a 500 error. Wasn't sure if that was a known issue or not. Also, we need to add in an option to write in a subject. |
@sekmiller I'm adding this to Beta 11. If you get a chance today, could you take a look at this? Thanks! |
@ekraffmiller -- thanks! |
#1502 is the ticket @ekraffmiller has been working on. i think we might have a duplicate ticket situation. ah! |
Still not seeing required asterisks for subject, message, and the math problem at the bottom. Passing back to @mheppler |
…e Feedback/Dataverse/Dataset contact form. [ref #658]
Added required asterisks to field labels, and other UI clean up on the Feedback/Dataverse/Dataset contact form. |
@mheppler I'm only seeing the required asterisk for Subject appearing on the Feedback form not the contact dataverse or dataset forms. |
Fixed render logic on required asterisk for the Subject label on Feedback/Contact form. |
All asterisks appearing. closing ticket. |

We need to design and determine what will go in the forms that pop up when a user clicks on the dataverse or dataset contact button.
Gary had suggested within the form having a way for the user to pick if the question is a support question (so send to Dataverse development team) or a data issue (so send to user or data owner) to decide who to send the email to.
