Emoji Extension

Converts Emoji shortcut in the form :shortcut: to emoji image

• Emoji Cheat Sheet shortcuts
• GitHub Emoji API shortcuts
• any of the above shortcuts to Unicode Emoji List, v11.0 Unicode Characters.

Extension options:

• Emoji shortcut type:

  • Emoji Cheat Sheet, GitHub: Emoji Cheat Sheet shortcuts, with GitHub shortcuts as fallback
  • GitHub, Emoji Cheat Sheet: GitHub shortcuts, with Emoji Cheat Sheet shortcuts as fallback
  • Emoji Cheat Sheet: Emoji Cheat Sheet shortcuts
  • GitHub: GitHub shortcuts

• Image type to use in the rendered HTML:

  • Images: use images only
  • Unicode, Images: use unicode characters with fallback to images when no unicode character exists
  • Unicode: use only unicode characters

  ⚠️ Unicode emoji options are intended for Markdown files exported to HTML. Plugin preview browser may not display Unicode emoji characters correctly. To have the emoji displayed in the preview browser, either use Images for image type or enable Replace Emoji shortcut unicode with image setting in Preview Settings.
