While working on arch/alpha/include/asm/uaccess.h, I noticed
that some macros within this header are made harder to read because they
violate a coding style rule: space is missing after comma.

While splitting device control in db08425 ("dmaengine: k3:
Split device_control") new function with the same 'k3_dma_resume' name
was added, leading to build error:

drivers/dma/k3dma.c:823:12: error: conflicting types for ‘k3_dma_resume’

Commit db08425 ("dmaengine: k3: Split device_control") introduced
two new helper functions, which unfortunately have the same names
as the existing suspend/resume functions, resulting in a build error
when CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is enabled:

drivers/dma/k3dma.c:823:12: error: conflicting types for 'k3_dma_resume'
 static int k3_dma_resume(struct device *dev)
            ^

The mmp tdma driver does not actually require this header, and
we want to enable multiplatform support for MMP, which would
make it inaccessible and cause a build error.

This patch just removes the old #include.

In a recent cleanup, the mmp_tdma_terminate_all function was
introduced but does not set a proper return value. Almost
no slave driver uses that return value, but if one does, the
result will be undefined, which the compiler warns about:

dma/mmp_tdma.c: In function 'mmp_tdma_terminate_all':
dma/mmp_tdma.c:474:1: warning: no return statement in function returning non-void [-Wreturn-type]

This changes the driver to return zero, like most other
drivers do.

properties for the DesignWare DMA controller driver.

…x/kernel/git/mst/vhost into asm-generic

Merge "uaccess: fix sparse warning on get/put_user for bitwise types" from Michael S. Tsirkin:

At the moment, if p and x are both tagged as bitwise types,
some of get_user(x, p), put_user(x, p), __get_user(x, p), __put_user(x, p)
might produce a sparse warning on many architectures.
This is a false positive: *p on these architectures is loaded into long
(typically using asm), then cast back to typeof(*p).

When typeof(*p) is a bitwise type (which is uncommon), such a cast needs
__force, otherwise sparse produces a warning.

Some architectures already have the __force tag, add it
where it's missing.

I verified that adding these __force casts does not supress any useful warnings.

Specifically, vhost wants to read/write bitwise types in userspace memory
using get_user/put_user.
At the moment this triggers sparse errors, since the value is passed through an
integer.

For example:
    __le32 __user *p;
    __u32 x;

both
    put_user(x, p);
and
    get_user(x, p);
should be safe, but produce warnings on some architectures.

While there, I noticed that a bunch of architectures violated
coding style rules within uaccess macros.
Included patches to fix them up.

In the case where we're splitting a lock in two, the current code
the new "left" lock in the incorrect spot. It's inserted just
before "right" when it should instead be inserted just before the
new lock.

Most of kernel code assume that interface array in
struct usb_configuration is NULL terminated.

When gadget is composed with configfs configuration
structure may be reused for different functions set.

This bug happens because purge_configs_funcs() sets
only next_interface_id to 0. Interface array still
contains pointers to already freed interfaces. If in
second try we add less interfaces than earlier we
may access unallocated memory when trying to get
interface descriptors.

Dave Chinner has properly pointed out that this is a deadlock in the
reclaim code because ext4 doesn't submit pages which are marked by
PG_writeback right away.

The heuristic was introduced by commit e62e384 ("memcg: prevent OOM
with too many dirty pages") and it was applied only when may_enter_fs
was specified. The code has been changed by c3b94f4 ("memcg:
further prevent OOM with too many dirty pages") which has removed the
__GFP_FS restriction with a reasoning that we do not get into the fs
code. But this is not sufficient apparently because the fs doesn't
necessarily submit pages marked PG_writeback for IO right away.

ext4_bio_write_page calls io_submit_add_bh but that doesn't necessarily
submit the bio. Instead it tries to map more pages into the bio and
mpage_map_one_extent might trigger memcg charge which might end up
waiting on a page which is marked PG_writeback but hasn't been submitted
yet so we would end up waiting for something that never finishes.

Fix this issue by replacing __GFP_IO by may_enter_fs check (for case 2)
before we go to wait on the writeback. The page fault path, which is
the only path that triggers memcg oom killer since 3.12, shouldn't
require GFP_NOFS and so we shouldn't reintroduce the premature OOM
killer issue which was originally addressed by the heuristic.

As per David Chinner the xfs is doing similar thing since 2.6.15 already
so ext4 is not the only affected filesystem. Moreover he notes:

: For example: IO completion might require unwritten extent conversion
: which executes filesystem transactions and GFP_NOFS allocations. The
: writeback flag on the pages can not be cleared until unwritten
: extent conversion completes. Hence memory reclaim cannot wait on
: page writeback to complete in GFP_NOFS context because it is not
: safe to do so, memcg reclaim or otherwise.

    [262674.834094]  [<ffffffff810956d0>] ? kthread_create_on_node+0x1c0/0x1c0

What happens is the following:

    (1) new MON session is established
    (2) old "none" ac is destroyed
    (3) new "cephx" ac is constructed
    ...
    (4) old OSD session (w/ "none" authorizer) is put
          ceph_auth_destroy_authorizer(ac, osd->o_auth.authorizer)

osd->o_auth.authorizer in the "none" case is just a bare pointer into
ac, which contains a single static copy for all services. By the time
we get to (4), "none" ac, freed in (2), is long gone. On top of that,
a new vtable installed in (3) points us at ceph_x_destroy_authorizer(),
so we end up trying to destroy a "none" authorizer with a "cephx"
destructor operating on invalid memory!

To fix this, decouple authorizer destruction from ac and do away with
a single static "none" authorizer by making a copy for each OSD or MDS
session. Authorizers themselves are independent of ac and so there is
no reason for destroy_authorizer() to be an ac op. Make it an op on
the authorizer itself by turning ceph_authorizer into a real struct.

Commit ff1e22e ("xen/events: Mask a moving irq") open-coded
irq_move_irq() but left out checking if the IRQ is disabled. This broke
resuming from suspend since it tries to move a (disabled) irq without
holding the IRQ's desc->lock. Fix it by adding in a check for disabled
IRQs.

The resulting stacktrace was:

That patch changed rpc_xdr_encode to use a new rq_rbuffer pointer to
set up the receive buffer, but didn't change all of the necessary
codepaths to set it properly. In particular the backchannel setup was
missing.

We need to set rq_rbuffer whenever rq_buffer is set. Ensure that it is.

Lock socket before checking the SOCK_ZAPPED flag in l2tp_ip6_bind().
Without lock, a concurrent call could modify the socket flags between
the sock_flag(sk, SOCK_ZAPPED) test and the lock_sock() call. This way,
a socket could be inserted twice in l2tp_ip6_bind_table. Releasing it
would then leave a stale pointer there, generating use-after-free
errors when walking through the list or modifying adjacent entries.

There is at least one Chelsio 10Gb card which uses VPD area to store some
non-standard blocks (example below). However pci_vpd_size() returns the
length of the first block only assuming that there can be only one VPD "End
Tag".

Since 4e1a635 ("vfio/pci: Use kernel VPD access functions"), VFIO
blocks access beyond that offset, which prevents the guest "cxgb3" driver
from probing the device. The host system does not have this problem as its
driver accesses the config space directly without pci_read_vpd().

Add a quirk to override the VPD size to a bigger value. The maximum size
is taken from EEPROMSIZE in drivers/net/ethernet/chelsio/cxgb3/common.h.
We do not read the tag as the cxgb3 driver does as the driver supports
writing to EEPROM/VPD and when it writes, it only checks for 8192 bytes
boundary. The quirk is registered for all devices supported by the cxgb3
driver.

This adds a quirk to the PCI layer (not to the cxgb3 driver) as the cxgb3
driver itself accesses VPD directly and the problem only exists with the
vfio-pci driver (when cxgb3 is not running on the host and may not be even
loaded) which blocks accesses beyond the first block of VPD data. However
vfio-pci itself does not have quirks mechanism so we add it to PCI.

This is the controller:

syzkaller reported crashes in IPv6 stack [1]

Xin Long found that lo MTU was set to silly values.

IPv6 stack reacts to changes to small MTU, by disabling itself under
RTNL.

But there is a window where threads not using RTNL can see a wrong
device mtu. This can lead to surprises, in mld code where it is assumed
the mtu is suitable.

Fix this by reading device mtu once and checking IPv6 minimal MTU.

The problem was that dump_smb() had been called with an invalid pointer,
that is, in __smb_send_rqst(), iov[1] doesn't exist (n_vec == 1).

This patch fixes it by relying on the n_vec value to dump out the smb
packets.

Increase kasan instrumented kernel stack size from 32k to 64k. Other
architectures seems to get away with just doubling kernel stack size under
kasan, but on s390 this appears to be not enough due to bigger frame size.
The particular pain point is kasan inlined checks (CONFIG_KASAN_INLINE
vs CONFIG_KASAN_OUTLINE). With inlined checks one particular case hitting
stack overflow is fs sync on xfs filesystem:

synchronize_rcu() is fine when the rcu callbacks only need
to free memory (kfree_rcu() or direct kfree() call rcu call backs)

__dev_map_entry_free() is a bit more complex, so we need to make
sure that call queued __dev_map_entry_free() callbacks have completed.
